BGInfo 4.33: Desktop System Information Display

BGInfo is a lightweight utility developed by Sysinternals that automatically displays relevant system information directly on your Windows desktop background. It is designed for users who want a quick, at-a-glance view of their computer's status without running complex monitoring software. By writing a new desktop bitmap and then exiting, it ensures that the tool does not consume significant system resources or interfere with other applications. This makes it an ideal solution for keeping track of your system details in a non-intrusive way.

Key features:

• Automatically displays computer name, IP address, and service pack version on the desktop background.
• Allows users to edit any displayed field to customize the specific information shown.
• Provides options to customize font styles and background colors to match your preferences.
• Can be placed in the startup folder to ensure system information is updated at every boot.
• Supports configuration to display system details as the background for the Windows logon screen.
• Uses a command-line option /timer:0 to update the display without showing the configuration dialog box.
• Integrates with the Windows Scheduler to run on a regular basis for long-running systems.
• Operates by writing a new desktop bitmap and exiting, preventing ongoing resource consumption.
